Katie was a Registered Nurse with Banner UMC prior to becoming a Nurse Practitioner. She is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, Southern Arizona Advanced Practice Nurse-Nurse Practitioner Society and Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.
Katie has a special interest in Women's Health. She is married and has two children. Katie enjoys traveling whit her family and cheering on the University of Arizona Wildcats.

I am a navy corpsman retired Navy She spoke to me in a medical form that I could understand and she knew my past my very first visit she spoke to me in a laymen terms that anyone should and could understand . She did not talk down at me but at me with care and understanding that she heard me and was going to look at and care for my needs , I felt in very caring and understanding hands. She was great and I like her because she took the time to listen and then look at the problem and exam and draw up a working plan for me to follow. She is great. I am also a retired Pastor and I know the attitude of great care when I see it and she has care for her patience.

this was my first visit with Dr. Castillo and I was extremely pleased with the kindness and promptness of all of the staff working! I was checked in right away and not even 5 minutes later I was given a short tour of the area and taken to the exam room. My nurse was super nice and detailed but quick! She was great at walking me through what she was doing and let me know the doctor would be in shortly and not even a minute later Dr. Castillo was in. I was nervous about getting a new doctor because I loved my last doctor so much, but I can happily say I believe I may have a new favorite. She was kind, friendly, easy to talk to and made me feel comfortable the entire time. I am happy to say I have found my new doctor!

Katherine Castillo has always been extremely professional and very, very kind to me when I have seen her. She's always been concerned and knowledgeable about any medical issues I've brought up. I like her very much and trust her judgement completely. I would feel very comfortable asking her to explain her medical decisions if I didn't agree with them and/or didn't understand them. BTW...the medical student she was training that day was also very polite and professional.

I called for an appt for a sinus infection and was given an appt for 4:20 on the same day I called, I got a call within 1/2 hr and was told Katherine Castillo could see me sooner , That was fantastic, I was told she had a student and did I mind if he saw me, he was very pleasant and Katy came in and asked me about my last visit (knee pain)

This was my annual Medicare Wellness exam. I didn't have any particular concerns to discuss, but it was comforting to know that Katharine was truly interested in knowing how I was doing in connection with my ongoing treatment by my cardiologist and urologist. Biggest concern were errors made my assistant in documenting vitals and medical history. Examples: pulse oximeter clearly read 93% and 98% is documented for that visit. Also reported an ORIF (R) wrist for which she documented arthoscopic surgery.
