Dr. Lacey Rao is a fellowship trained orthopedic hand surgeon board certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery. She specializes in conservative and surgical treatment of disorders of the hand and wrist such as arthiritis, carpal tunnel, traumatic injury and tendinitis.
In addition to extensive schooling she's achieved the highest level of certification available in the field of hand surgery, a certificate in surgery of the hand from the American Society for Surgery of the Hand.
Dr. Rao prides herself on providing quality care, and ensuring her patients feel listened to and respected.
She and her husband, two daughters and dog Penny Lane enjoy outdoor activities in the Arizona sun like hiking, golf, and swimming.

Dr Rao is extremely knowledgeable, informative, thorough and professional. She explained my injury very well and what the best repair would be (including the use of manikin bones and sample hardware for demonstration of repair). She explained what to expect immediately afterwards as well as what to expect for the healing timeline. Scheduling for surgery and follow up appointment were taken care of efficiently. Dr Rao included very helpful handouts regarding my injury. I felt extremely comfortable and confident moving forward with surgery thanks to her. She is a true asset to your physician staff!

Dr. Lacey Rao has been a gift to me. My GP sent me to her when I started to manifest carpal tunnel syndrome, probably two years ago. I tried to do it through the VA and I got more responsiveness from you guys than the VA and the course of lesson six months. Although I had complications that required additional intervention, I would not trade her for the world again based on what I hear from other veterans and how responsive you guys are and how good I've been treated in your facility. She's awesome.

I did get a cortisone shot (kenalog) and was released immediately, I had a severe allergic reaction about 30 minutes later driving home with swelling, hives, & numbness. I loved Dr. Rao. She was very knowledgeable and knew exactly the issue was. She was very encouraging in that if I choose a specific treatment, chances are 80% that I would not need to come back. That is how sure she was of the treatment. I appreciated the doctors thorough explanation about my hand and what could be done, the length of time it would take to heal, etc I settled for the steroid shots to relieve the pain in my hand. Dr. Lacey Rao is one of the best doctors I have ever dealt with, and I'm 70 years old! That's quite a few doctors! She's extremely real, caring, patient, respectful, knowledgeable, concerned, considerate, accommodating, and friendly. She provided me with excellent care, did a great job with my two surgeries, pre and post op care. I won't hesitate to recommend her or go to her for any further care or surgeries needed in her specialty.
